    A horse drawn carriage drove through the night. “We must get to the hotel before it’s too late!” said the driver. But at the hotel, the English passenger, Mr. Renfield, wanted to continue his hourney: “I have a meeting with Count Dracula, I cannot be late.” An old lady gave him a crucifix:”Wear this for protection.”

The Dracula Legend

In his 1897 book, the writer Bram Stoker created the character Count Dracula, the most famous vampire in the world. Count Dracula didn’t like light, hated garlic and crucifixes, and loved human blood!

The first Dracula movie appeared in 1931. The director was Tod Browning, and the actor who played Dracula was Bela Lugosi. Today, there are Dracula movies in about 50 different languages, and there are more than 700 horror movies based on the Dracula legend. In , Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, and Antonio Banderas all played the role of vampires.
